Malenge Baker, a male Ugandan, is the current Principal of Nakapiripirit Technical Institute in Karamoja, North Eastern Uganda. He has served as the Principal since 2017. He is a technician in building construction, has a higher diploma in civil engineering after ordinary diploma in civil, and also a diploma in competency based training in brick/block laying and concrete practice craft Part 1 and 2. He also has a Bachelors in Public Administration and Management and a diploma in training institution management
He and his colleagues at Nakapiripirit Technical Institute are implementing a paradigm shift of competency based training that is informed by the current labor market needs and unique challenges of Karamoja sub-region, one of the most impoverished, undeveloped and underserved regions of Uganda, that necessitate flexible and dynamic approaches.
