Dr. Drake Patrick Mirembe currently holds the esteemed position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Eight Tech Consults Ltd. His academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Security of Systems, earned from Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Makerere University. Drake’s expertise is further underscored by internationally recognized certifications such as CCNA, CCAI, ICDL, along with training in organization management and project management.

Throughout his professional journey, Drake has been a key contributor to various organizations, spanning both public and private sectors. His roles have included software developer, network administrator, IT systems security analyst, and Senior ICT Consultant. His extensive project portfolio encompasses critical tasks such as conducting an ICT security audit for the entire Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), formulating IT policies for CAA and the Judiciary, auditing CHOGM2007’s ICT infrastructure, overseeing the development of Makerere University Websites, and contributing to curriculum development at Bishop Stuart University, among other accomplishments. During his Master’s studies in the Netherlands, Drake actively participated in the Nijmegen Health Initiative and the Security of Systems Department, focusing on developing a secure framework for implementing telemedicine, e-health, and wellness services under the guidance of Dr. Martijn Oostijdk and Dr. Perry Groot.

In addition to his industry engagements, Drake has established himself as a distinguished academician, researcher, and ICT consultant. With approximately 10 international publications, including a book, he holds the position of Assistant Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Networks at the Faculty of Computing & IT, Makerere University.
