Dr. Zadok Ekimwere is an active communication scientist. He obtained his PhD in Journalism and Mass Communications at the College of Journalism and Information Science, University of South Carolina, USA; before that, he got a first class Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Newspaper Journalism, at the International Institute for Journalism, Berlin, Germany. He has taught journalism and communication in universities in Uganda, USA and South Africa. He exhibited distinguished leadership capability when he headed Uganda’s premier School of Journalism and Media Management, Uganda Management Institute, where he launched the first ever post-graduate diploma in journalism in Uganda. Prior to that he worked as a newspaper journalist with the New Vision, Uganda’s leading daily, and held senior editorial positions of chief sub-editor and managing editor. His core competencies are in strategic communication, behavior change communication, advocacy, media consulting and capacity building. And he has vast experience in the production of print media products like newspapers, magazines, newsletters, bulletins, and posters. He is now an Independent Consultant in Kampala, and Head of Communicating with Transformative Media (COTRAM). COTRAM is a consulting firm that uses strategic communication to cause change and achieve desired targets.
